Festival international des arts plastiques de Monastir


    Some clarifications about the Monastir International Festival

                                                    From 02  to  12 sept 2012

Please, we ask you to read these items to get an exact idea of the festival (Twining,  workshops,  paintings ......) we insist on that! So while trying to read article by article. 

In addition to the regular activities that our organization performs all year long such as exhibitions ,workshops, giving courses in painting, it holds the International Festival of Plastic Arts by the end of every summer. First, this manifestation aims at providing painters with an ample opportunity to build relations with artists from all over the world. Second, another objective is to set up an international museum of plastic arts containing selected artistic works made by former participants in the previous sessions of the festival.

This year the festival will be held in two different cities:  Hammamet  and  Monastir. Thus, the first 4 days in will be in Hammamet , and the following days in Monastir.
So the arrival of arttistes participants and the opening of the festival will be in Hammamet  (in  the  international culturel center  of Hammamet  "Dar Sebastian". Then, the closing of the festival and the artists departure will be from the hotel “ Les Palmiers” of Monastir.
 
ARTICLE  1/
the number of participants is limited to 50 artists (but  could be modified ) depending on the circumstances!  SO THE DATE OF APPLICATION FOR PARTICIPATION WILL BE TAKEN INTO CONSIDERATION .  The deadline for filings participation is July 20 , 2012 Every Artist painter  or sculptor who is going to take part in the coming session should be professional one with both national and international reputation.      After receiving a request to participate, a CV and a completed participation form, the organization reviewed the file and  responded by writing to the artist an  official invitation..


ARTICLE  2/
  During the festival, the artist is asked to create 02works of art (paintings ,sculptures), one in Hammamet and one in Monastir .These paintings and sculptures  will be for the benefit of the association fo the sake of an international museum creation in the 
town of Monastir .    The subject of the 10 session is: “
the colors of the medina”.

ARTICLE  3 /
The canvas and the accommodation (hotel,break fast ,lunch,diner) excursions and evenings will be in charge of the association.
  The artist had to bring his own painting tubes and brushes.
The travelling expenses are to be paid by the artist.


ARTICLE  4 /
On the basis of the suggestions of the Majority of painters who have participated in the previous sessions of the festival and to Improve the organization's services we have decided that participating in the festival will be by subscription . 
                                                                                
.ARTICLE  5  /
The  membership  will be paid by the artist in Monastir. The amount of this contribution is 200 Euro. 

Student membership is 150 Eur
Compagnion : 270 eur

Are exempt from this membership:
       
          A / / association presidents combined with ABAM + The head of the delegation of the association just for signing an act of twinning with ABAM.
          -B / two guests of honor HOLDER first prize in theprevious session of the festival: Sascha Unger and SvetlanaZhuravleva. 
          


ARTICLE  6 /.
The organisation is charged to pay the costs of residence to the foreign participants at Palmiers hotel for a number of days not larger than 12 days , maximum .


ARTICLE  7/
The artist may be accompanied by a spouse or friend ; the Membership of the latter is 270 Euro.

Child  5 years or less : Free
children 6 to 10 years: 50%
 This companion will benefit all prévileges enjoyed the artist  .

ARTICLE  8 /
If the artist  (and attendant) is obliged to come or go before or after this interval of time, his stay at the same hotel, will be dependent on him, but 
the association promess that the artist will  pay a maximum per day with 20eur , full allocation, and the association is responsible to pay the remainder (the difference), on his behalf at the hotel.


ARTICLE 9 /
The organization isn't in charge of providing transportation for the painters and their companions.
Sometimes the Festival organization intervenes to ensure a means 
of transportation between Tunis and Enfidha and Monastir airports to “DAR SEBASTIEN” in Hammamet  but in all cases the cost of transportation is the responsibility of the artist .


ARTICLE  10 /
Each painter is expected to do at least two paintings during the festival. 
In case he/she does more than two, of one's own will, these paintings remain the property of the organization. If the paintings are done on the painter's own canvas, he/she is free to decide whether to sell them, donate them or take them back home


ARTICLE  11 /
The paintings and sculptures produced during the festival remain the property of the organization that will manage it freely. A number of paintings selected by appointed committee will be displayed in the future permanent art galley in Monastir ( MonastirMuseum)

ARTICLE  12  /
In order to encourage painters to be creative and innovative, we have decided to choose the "Best painting of the session" , and the festival’s medal will be awarded to the creator which will be  the guest of honor at the next session of the festival  (.and nothing else as being recompence). 
The voting takes place secretly and the voters are the artists participants themselves (.with the exception of students who will under no circumstances to vote)  . 
All art works created by professional artists participants must be exposed during the operation of the selection of the best work of the session, (
with the exeption of artworks created by artists  had a prize in one of the previous sessions. These artists are out competition.).
If the number of students participating in the festival is greater than or equal to 12 students,  a certificate of honor will be given to the best work created by the creator student . 
If the number of participating students is less than 12 students, the paintings and sculptures created by these students will not beamong the works exhibited and referred for selection. 
only the  PROFESSIONAL  artist holder price will be the guest of honor at the next session. 
. The artist, professional and student, participating in this festival is supposed to have read what is mentioned in this “article 12” ,  and is supposed to agree on its content .

ARTICLE 13  /
Reproduction of other paintings is strictly forbidden even if it was the reproduction of postcards. Every offender will assume the consequences of his/her fault.

ARTICLE  14 /
At the end of each session of the festival, the organisation will produce a catalog containing photos of works created . 
These same photos will also, inserted in  the website of the Association after each session of the festival.

ARTICLE  15/
Priority for participation is given to artists who will participate for the first time

ARTICLE  16  /
It has been settled to invite  SASCHA UNGER  and  SVETLANA ZHURAVLEVA  to participate at the 10 session of the festival in their capacity as guests of honours since they have obtained the certificate of the best artistic painting during the last session of the festival.
They be exempt from payment of  the membership . 
Each one and will have the amount of 250EUR as our participationin the price of their tickets, but this support will no longer be held inconsideration in future sessions.

ARTICLE  17/
The technique of collage and duptique or triptych paintings  will not be accepted under any circumstances

ARTICLE  18/
Each paintings  is created during the festival should be signed by the artist on the face otherwise this paintings will not be exposed anywhere

ARTICLE  19/
Once the participant  comes to attend the festival, this automatically implies that she/ he has read all  items above and accepted them without any conditions or reservation.

ARTICLE  20/
